Review of the Higher education Act 2008:
Draft Review Report and proposed draft Higher Education Amendment Bill and its subsidiary legislation (the Review).
“Greetings from the Higher Education Commission (“Commission”).
The Commission is working towards the finalisation of reviewing its legislation, and we acknowledge and are grateful for your continued support and contributions.
This review aims to analyse and assess the Act and the subsidiary legislation and make recommendations for improvements to ensure that they are current, fit for purpose, and meet the regulator’s and stakeholders’ needs.
Therefore, the Commission perceives that finalising the review of the Higher Education Legislation must be undertaken in collaboration with its stakeholders and .
The Commission kindly requests and extends an invitation for you to provide your feedback/review/ further recommendations on the enclosed draft Review Report and proposed draft Higher Education Amendment Bill that enclosed herewith.
For any changes you recommend, you need to justify (preferably with evidence) why those changes are required and how, with the revised Act, your institution will become more efficient and responsive to students’ educational needs and industry demands.
Since representing stakeholders is vital to this proposed review exercise, we request that you respond to us in writing by the close of business on December 16, 2024.
